Chambersburg Project is governed by an 11 member Board of Directors. This Board is made up of individuals who are devoted to the mission and vision of the organization.
President- Brandon Barnhart- Term expires September 2012
Brandon has been involved with Chambersburg Project since 2001, first attending the work camp as an assistant crew leader. Brandon has served two non consecutive terms on the board, the first from 2003 until August of 2005 and the second from February 2008 until the present. Brandon served as Vice-President of Chambersburg Project from February 2008 through September 2010. Brandon has served on the Finance and Youth Leadership Team and has a heart and passion for youth, particularly those in Franklin County. Brandon works as a social worker for Laurel Life in the Chambersburg Area School District. He and his wife Stephanie have a daughter, attend Antrim Brethren in Christ and live in Chambersburg.
Vice President - Mike Long- Term expires 2011
Mike joined the board in October 2009, where he has served on the fundraising and building teams. Mike became the board Vice President in October 2010 and is currently serving on the executive board as well. Mike has a heart and passion for mission work and has also served on the Mission Board at King Street Church, where he and his family attend services. Mike owns and operates MELs landscaping. Mike is married, with four children and his family lives in Greencastle.
Secretary- Bonnie Yoder- Term expires September 2011
Bonnie is currently serving as an executive board member and recording secretary. Bonnie first joined the board in January 2010. Bonnie has been actively volunteering for Chambersburg Project in many ways for the past few years since her oldest son became involved. Bonnie currently handles a lot of the administrative tasks to operate the organization. Bonnie works part time at Pictures Plus in Greencastle and spends the rest of her time with her husband and four sons. Bonnie and her husband, Lin, attend Five Forks Brethren in Christ and live in Greencastle.
Treasurer- Deb Kennedy - Term expires September 2013
Deb joined the board in October 2010 as treasurer. Deb handles all the daily finances of Chambersburg Project. This is Deb's first year serving Chambersburg Project and she is excited to be involved. She is currently serving on the finance team and executive board. Deb works for Franklin County and is a CPA. Deb and her husband Tom, who has served many times as a material runner, attend Chambersburg First Church of God.
Director- Kenny Haines- Term expires September 2012
Kenny has been involved with Chambersburg Project from the beginning in 1998. He has served as a board member since the organization was incorporated in 2003. Kenny served as President of the board from January 2007 until October 2010 and was the first Vice President of the board from 2003 until January of 2007. Kenny currently serves on the Building Team, Fundraising Team and Youth Leadership Team, but enjoys talking with the homeowners and spending time with the youth that participate the most. Kenny is self-employed as an electrician and he and his wife Deb attend Antrim Brethren in Christ and live in Greencastle.
Director- Darrel Knepper- Term expires 2012
Darrel has served on the board since March 2003. He has served at eight work camps as a crew leader. Darrel is involved with the Building Team, and provides great knowledge to that team when it comes time to inspect homes for repairs. Darrel is self employed, working as a contractor. Darrel also enjoys worship and music. He and his wife attend Otterbein Ministry Center. They have two grown children and five grandchildren and currently reside in Mont Alto.
Director & Building Team Chair- Doug Drooger- Term expires 2012
Doug has been a member of the board since May 2004 and is currently serving as chair of the Building Team. Doug has been a crew leader for Chambersburg Project since 2002 and enjoys working with the teens each summer. In Doug's current position as chair of the Building Team he is responsible for coordinating the home repairs for the summer work camp. Doug is employed as a nurse at Chambersburg Hospital and operates his own landscaping business on the side. Doug and his wife have two daughters, both of which have served at Chambersburg Project, and one grandson. They attend Five Forks Brethren In Christ and reside in Quincy.
Director- Greg Glunt- Term expires 2011
Greg is currently serving his second term on the board and has been a board member since September 2007. Greg has served as a crew leader, 2010 being his fourth year. In the summer of 2009, Greg coordinated the tear down and reconstruction of a home in Waynesboro, known as the Donna Project. Greg is self-employed, operating Greg's Construction. Greg is married to Cindy and they have three children and four grandchildren. Greg and his family attend King Street Church and reside in Orrstown.
Director- Jim Walker- Term expires 2011
Jim is currently serving in his second term on the board of directors and has been serving since September 2007. Jim serves on the Building Team and provides knowledge and expertise of construction, of which he obtains from owning and operating Walker's Home Repair and Remodeling. Jim and his wife Sandy have two sons. Jim's family is involved in Chambersburg Project each year and they enjoy serving together. They attend Five Forks Brethren In Christ and live in Waynesboro.
Director & Fundraising Team Chair- Steve Perrin- Term expires 2013
Steve is serving his first term as board member. Steve became interested in the Chambersburg Project in the summer of 2010 and was elected to the board of directors in October of 2010. Steve is currently serving as the chair of the fundraising team
Youth Leadership Chair- Jason Mickey
Jason is currently serving as the chair person for the Youth Leadership Team. Jason also served as a board member from January 2006 until September 2010. Prior to serving as a board member, Jason was a crew leader for two years. Jason enjoys spending time with young leaders and helping them to grow in their faith. He is currently employed with Negley's Well Drilling. Jason and his wife attend New Guilford Brethren In Christ, where he is a youth leader. They currently reside in Chambersburg.
Finance Team Chair- Michelle Williams
Michelle is currently serving as chair of our Finance Team, which is responsible for creating our annual budget and coordinating the finances with Barbie, the treasurer. Michelle has served Chambersburg Project in many different positions, specifically those of crew leader, Youth Team Advisor, board member, and Vice President from 2007 until 2008. Michelle has worked as a youth pastor and church educator. She is currently pursuing her degree in elementary education at Shippensburg University. Michelle and her husband Dean have two children and reside in Greencastle.
Evening Programming Team Chair- Chris Bumbaugh
Chris is the chair of the Programming Team. He is responsible for creating and coordinating our work camp programs, which include speaker, band, theme, t-shirt, games and everything else you may see at the work camp, other than the working that is. Chris began serving in the position in 2009. Chris and his wife have two sons, who are actively involved with Chambersburg Project. They attend Five Forks Brethren In Christ and live in Quincy.
Administration/Registration Team Chair- Stephanie Barnhart
Steph is currently serving as the chair for the Admin/Registration Team. This team is responsible for coordinating and handling all of the youth and adult registrations for the work camp as well as the preparation and daily operations of the work camp. Steph first got involved with Chambersburg Project through an internship in 2004. Steph is married to Brandon, Chambersburg Project's current President. She is a business education teacher at Chambersburg Senior High School. Steph and Brandon have one daughter and attend Antrim Brethren In Christ and live in Chambersburg.
Food Team Chair- Jenn Bowman
Jenn is currently serving as the Food Team Chair for the fourth year, first beginning in 2008. Her vast knowledge of the restaurant and food service business allow her to coordinate and facilitate the preparation of almost 1000 meals each day at the summer work camp. Jenn also coordinates meals/food for all of Chambersburg Project events. Jenn is currently employed as a special education teacher at Chambersburg School District. She and her husband attend Five Forks Brethren In Christ church and live in Fayetteville.
